About

My Journey So Far

Baby boomer. Child of the sixties. Hippie. Drafted into the military. Master Social Worker in addictions and mental health. Yogi and Certified Yoga Instructor. Retired. Husband, father, grandfather. Mystic. Lover and Beloved of God. Practitioner of spiritual traditions. Disciple of Christ. Anti-imperialist witness and troublemaker. Social justice activist. Friend and neighbor in the alternative true community of authentic belonging. Lifelong student of the True Self and Authentic Belonging.

I have been a spiritual pilgrim and writer since my earliest memories of childhood and all through my life including now as a septuagenarian. I write primarily poetry and other short pieces on things that touch my heart, soul, spirit, and relationships.

I write mostly about spirituality, faith, theology, nature, authentic being and belonging in community, social justice and social criticism.

Some of my major teachers and major influences in life, faith, community, and writing are: Ram Dass, Thich Nhat Hahn, BKS Iyengar, Gandhi, Rumi, Hafiz, Thomas Merton, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Dorothee Soelle, Richard Rohr, Walter Brueggemann, Martin Luther King Jr., Dorothy Day, Annie Dillard, Joan Didion, Mary Oliver, Wendell Berry, Marilyn Robinson, Dave Eggers, Jean Vanier and Toko-pa Turner.

I believe we are all just walking one another home on a journey of authentic being and belonging in true community. Friend, let us meet one another there on the journey!
