Poem: Surrendering: Do The Work!

Poem: Surrendering: Do the Work!

Have you done the work
of surrendering your ego
and its’  personal hubris
of the success that ultimately
does not satisfy

Have you surrendered
your brain impulse
of the analytical, reasoning mind
for the precognition knowing
of spiritual Creation

Have you surrendered
your privilege and success
in the imperialistic empire’s
power, control, and violence paradigm
for anti-dominant empowerment, liberation, and peace

If you tell me, this grace,
of the Universal Cosmic Christ (by whatever name)
has not been bestowed upon you,
for your personal spiritual transformation,
I will tell you, you have not done the work

Of accepting the key to the door of grace,
and doing the inner work of surrender
and acceptance, following the pathless way,
studying the Masters, and age-less practices
leading to the peace beyond the mind

Beloveds, awaken, do the work
of recognizing your soul, its’ truth,
and its’ authentic belonging in the Cosmic
Universe, and our authentic, diverse
communities together, home, in kin-dom

Poem: Thinking of God as Compared to Knowing God

Poem: Thinking of God as Compared to Knowing God

Sitting in church on Sunday
the great gathering of believers:
the woman with a pistol in her purse,
the espoused white supremacist family man,
the patriarchal church elder who fears gays

All believing Jesus is their personal savior,
who looks like them,
likes and dislikes the same people as they,
and judges all as to the meritocracy of heaven
which is not here and not now

What bad theology,
what past dogma or creed,
what misreading and poor preaching,
what age-old council of churchmen
has brought them all to this small, limited God

Yes these gathered souls
think of God rather than experience God
distracted by the ten million things that separate us
many of which have been elevated to idolatry
including personal power, control, and violence

How have we reduced God to being so small and limited
how has God’s awe inspiring presence and love
escaped our experience of each moment,
this God who is as close as our next breath
and limitless as the great Cosmos spinning about

Creator of the Cosmos, breath of our lives,
our Beloved and beloved of God,
the Universal Christ of grace, love, and our only true hope
for authentic community in our true diversity
in the anti-empire, anti-dominant system of kin-dom

Unless and until one turns out towards and enters into
the Universal Christ mystery and opens to  its’ radical
consciousness that rewires each of us on the physical, cellular,
neurological, and spiritual levels,  Christianity will remain
a personal cerebral exercise rather than Eternal Life together as Beloveds

Poem: The Way of Great Suffering and Great Love

The Way of Great Suffering and Great Love

The knowledge that
knowing God, the Universal Divine, is our
life’s one true purpose on this earth
came early

As if through a veil,
clarity came from
reflection deep within and a turning out towards,
and study and disciplined  practice

And, yes, the many spiritual teachers
of timeless spiritual truths
and spiritual practices of
the Universal Divine cosmology

And one must wander from time to time
in the pathless land of exile
from our personal, socio-cultural hubris and comfort,
as a certain mindfulness and awareness settles in

That in the  tensions of our lives,
a great truth lies,
which our societies’ dual thinking misrepresents to us
as either/or choices to be argued and fought for

When, in fact, the tensions
are not oppositional choices but complementary flow
in a harmonious state of oneness
as both/and healing wholeness

Our very nature as conscious beings
is BOTH human AND divine
thus existing in the paradoxical tension
of both Great Suffering and Great Love

Great Suffering and Great Love
is the Universal Divine way
of teaching us the great spiritual
lessons of our lifes’ one purpose

It is the Great Divine’s primary tool
for our human transformation from ego
to contemplative mind of knowing/unknowing
and to mind/body/spirit/self/other being together

Recalling the story of the Christ principle,
both human and divine, and
subject to it all, the Great Suffering and Great Love,
of the One eternal life resurrected here and now for all

And thus, as in heaven, so on earth,
that all Great Suffering be regarded with Great Love,
resisting all that separates and divides us from God
uniting together in solidarity in authentic communities

Beloveds, setting aside our oppositional ego thinking,
programmed by personal, socio-cultural biases and desires,
for the contemplative mind of the Universal Divine
that suffers with us in loving and healing togetherness as One
